Welcome to the Sweezey.net genealogy and family home page. The focus of this site is about our origins, our heritage, and our lives.

If you are researching the roots of either the "Sweezey" or "Taliaferro" families, we gladly extend our archives to you.

The historical information contained here has been compiled by Robert H. Sweezey, and Charles R. Taliaferro Sr.

Sweezey.net has been online now since 1998 and has changed shape several times since our initial launch. Originally it was to be a gathering place for our family, as we are all members of the online world.

Since the publishing of our genealogy research, this site has become primary a research destination. With that said, we have decided to use the Sweezey.com and Sweezey.net domains for just such a purpose.

The largest amount of work on this site is on the Long Island, New York Sweezeys. As this is where I was born, and my original goal was to research my family tree.

Gradually, the scope of my work expanded to other counties and states. Much of the information for our family tree outside of Long Island has come from the research of others who have been kind enough to post or publish their work.

One of my goals is to now connect every Sweezey/ Swezey/ Swasey/ Swayze/ Sweazea/ etc. to our original ancestors, brothers John & Joseph Swasey who came to this country from England sometime between 1630 and 1645. I would appreciate any help in this endeavor.
